Eligibility for the Scholarship
Students from any country worldwide are eligible to apply. However, they must meet specific requirements to qualify for this scholarship:
- International Students: Open to non-Singaporean international applicants who have completed a bachelor’s degree.
- Academic Excellence: Applicants should have a strong academic record with exceptional grades.
- English Language Proficiency: While an English proficiency certificate is preferred, candidates will also be assessed during the interview.
- Exclusions: Citizens of Singapore or those with prior higher education from Singapore cannot apply.
- Field of Study: This scholarship is exclusively for PhD studies in science and engineering fields. Social sciences, humanities, and economics fields are not eligible.
Scholarship Funding
The Singapore PhD scholarship provides comprehensive financial support, which includes:
- Full Tuition Fee Coverage: Complete waiver of all tuition fees for the program duration.
- Monthly Stipend: A monthly living allowance of approximately USD 3,200 to cover housing and food.
- Travel and Relocation Allowance: A travel allowance of USD 1,500 for international flights and relocation.
- One-Time Settlement Allowance: A one-time payment of USD 1,000 to assist with initial expenses in Singapore.

Required Documents
To complete the application, the following documents are required:
- Valid Passport Copy: Scanned and ready for submission.
- Recent Passport-Sized Photo: In JPG or PNG format.
- Academic Transcripts: Translated to English and verified copies of all academic records.
- Two Letters of Recommendation: Submitted online by referees.
- Proof of English Proficiency: If requested by the university.
